Saying Thank You

October 7, 2010

Jenn got a thank you card at work today.

It made her whole face light up.

Someone acknowledge the hard work she put in and did it with a tangible object that she can point to on a bad day and say … someone really appreciates the work I do.

How often do we get that?  How often do we think “well that’s just their job”?

And as wonderful as actually saying thank you and really meaning it is… the extra gesture of a written card?  That’s just so much more and so much greater… I guess because it has more permanence.  So it carries more weight.

I think I might write Niko a note.  Just so she knows how happy I am that she’s back.  Because I can see the weight that a written word carries.
