Why did I waste the day before the end of the world on paperwork?

May 20, 2011

Today was a beautiful day.  I wore a dress and flip-flops.  It was a day that you wish would last forever.

It might well be the last full day on Earth what with the rapture and all.

So why on earth did I spend the day dealing with paperwork?

How does that make sense?

Although I was so tired all day that if I wasn’t at work I would have gone home and napped instead of truly enjoying the wonder of the day.  As it was I went out a few times to run errands and had lunch with a friend.  Besides, it’s not like I’m likely to rise up with the chosen… if anything I’ll end up suffering through earthquake, fire and flood until October when our rooms will be ready downstairs.

so… given all that, I have plans for tomorrow to go to the Underground Farmer’s Market in the morning and then Dashe’s Urban Luau in the afternoon.

They way I look at it we should all spend the day enjoying ourselves and doing whatever it is that makes us happy.  Because in the words of Jean-Luc Picard in Encounter at Farpoint, “If we’re going to be damned, let’s be damned for who we really are.”

Or you could go with the idea that Frank just sent my way…

Any which way you slice it… here’s hoping we make it through the weekend.
